John grew up in Winnipeg, Canada where he developed a tremendous love for sports. His lifetime involvement with amateur sports as a participant, coach, and administrator has been an important focus in his life. He has also had considerable success in business. John was the original General Manager of the Winnipeg Goldeyes Professional Baseball Club which he led to numerous attendance records. During his tenure with the Goldeyes, the team made the play-offs all eight years and John was twice named Northern League General Manager of the Year. His passion for the job was obvious to everyone who met him and his hands-on approach won him the respect of the Goldeyes' many supporters. John also took a position as the General Manager of the Sioux Falls Canaries Baseball Club in South Dakota which he held for one year. This powerful learning experience gave him a broad perspective of diferent professional sports operations. John started a sporting goods company which brought top quality equipment to Canada. The company prospered and evolved into Home Run Sports, one of the largest independent sporting goods stores in the country. Through Home Run Sports, John was responsible for bringing BlastBall to Canada. This introductory level game has served to promote and foster baseball and softball throughout the country. In June of 2004, John's baseball career culminated with his induction into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. John is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS). His warm and engaging keynotes have inspired audiences as he takes them on a fun and motivating ride on the "Pursuit of Excellence." Connecting with people and helping others are the primary messages throughout the keynotes. John uses these core principles to help people build better teams.
